   "Dear Hertha..."

Wanda drew the front of this postcard herself—one of many that she designed. When she was just a teenager her father died, leaving Wanda to help support the family by drawing pictures, making bookmarks, and painting valentines and postcards to sell. Wanda wrote this postcard when she was twenty years old and studying at the St. Paul School of Art.

How are you? I like art school very much. I am coming home in two weeks and will probably see you during Xmas vacation.
