1892 Republican National Convention: Images from MHS Collections

"The Appeal," June 11, 1892, front page.
"The Appeal" was a long running newspaper representing the African-American interests of the Twin Cities area (1889-1923). The 1892 Convention comprised 116 African American delegates, about 13 percent of the full body, who took up issues including civil rights. The local press reported on the delegates activities.
